October Wrap Up!

It’s been a crazy month! Probably the craziest of this year and I’m so glad that it’s finally over! 🙂 So I just read three books this month. And i think it’s pretty decent looking back into all the work that needed to be done in October. Yeah, 3 books is totally decent don’t you think? #not

Anyway, I will just have a quick wrap up here and have mini reviews for each ‘coz that’s what wrap ups are all about, right? 🙂 So here goes!

1. Wait for You by J.Lynn

The Boklander Rating5 Stars

51Px8KMalTL._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_I gave it a 4.5 actually but I don’t mind rounding it up to five (primarily because I don’t know how to make half stars! Haha) 🙂

Let me start by saying that Jeniffer L. Armentrout is the queen! SHE. IS. THE. QUEEN.
OMG GUYS. It’s been a while since I have read a new adult book that made me feel all the emotions I could possibly feel!!! I probably won’t be able to make a proper review here because all you’re going to see is me gushing over Cam and Avery! And I’m just putting it out there that not even once did I doubt this book! I knew I was gonna love it, and I knew it was gonna be the awesomest. And good heavens, it did not disappoint! I WAS FREAKIN’ RIGHT!!! Because if there is a feeling more than LOVE, then I am definitely feeling that one!

The characters. I think these two, Avery and Cam, will stay with me for a long long time. I loved the character development, the individual internal conflicts, the emotions that are just so raw and so real. I totally felt Avery’s hurts and pains from her past and Cam’s eternal want to get into Avery’s mind. I guess their own individual issues are what made this book different from other New Adult titles, because there was so much depth in this story.

I mean, yeah it’s not the sort that changes your life forever, but it’s one that would make you hope again, and believe again, and just give you all the good feels!

AND! They are just so good for each other! And I loved loved every bit of this book!

2. On the Fence by Kasie West

The Boklander Rating4 Stars

4 stars! Gah. This book, guys! I can’t believe I only discovered Kasie West, and I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to read one of her works!
On the Fence is my book club’s October book of the month, and quite frankly, I did not expect a lot from this one. I thought it would just be your typical YA contemporary with a beginning, a conflict, an underdeveloped romance and an ending. In short, I thought it was gonna be a 2-star read!

But man! WHAT EVEN! I can’t even describe how wrong I was!

I loved every page, every chapter, and every one in this book! Even the minor characters were so relatable and close to home that I could relate to them! 🙂 It was such a perfect package for those of you who wants to have good dose of contemporary romance!

The build up was good, the ending was sooooo good – I just had one issue and that was the reason why it did not get 5 perfect stars from me. The peak – that moment that Charlie realized she was in love with Braden. (This is not a spoiler, so worry not!) I just think the realization was a bit rushed and I don’t know – the timing is just not right, as well as the setting. It could have been fleshed out more in my opinion. But hey, I guesss it doesn’t matter now, ‘coz what was lacking in this particular peak was compensated, oh definitely compensated!, in the latter part of the story! Braden and Charlie were just, aaaah, perfect!!! I can’t stop gushing!

3. I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella

The Boklander Rating4 Stars

4 stars! 🙂 This is a surprisingly pleasant read! 🙂 I’ve Got Your Number is my first ever Sophie Kinsella novel and honestly, I had very very low expectations! I mean, I know Sophie is a good writer, and I know the Shopaholic series is just super well-known and well-loved by many, but I thought it won’t suit my taste – I don’t know the reason behind this mindset actually, but I thought it’s just going to be a so-so read. Not very good – but not too bad either. Probably a 2.5 at most.

But boy was I wrong!

Poppy Wyatt and Sam Roxton made me laugh, and giggle, and smile, and just be all over the place in such a good way! 🙂

At first, things are kinda unfolding slow, and everything is just about Poppy and her upcoming wedding and her bluffs. Very little traces of Sam, to none at all! And I was like, hey come on give me more of Sam Roxton! I was already kinda getting disappointed but when Sam was finally in the picture, siiiigh.

Although some of the scenes are just too convenient for the plot, it did not affect my perception of the story at all. It was light and fluffy and oh just all the good vibes!

If you are having a bad day, this one will definitely turn that frown into smiles – even giggles! 🙂
