Who am I? What am I doing here posting an update? Do you still even know me? I’m sure you don’t anymore because I have been soooo out for so so long. I’m sorry?
Anyway, let me reintroduce myself because why not – I’m Kat, a twenty-something lawyer by day and reader at all the hours in between from the Philippines, and you can always find me ~reading after ten~ (o’clock? Yes, my blog name definitely pertains to a reading time reference) 🙂 Why are you only seeing me now, you may ask? No I’m not a guest blogger here. I’m actually your resident blogger but life has gotten so much in the way this year that’s why I have been MIA for almost 7 months. I have been reading a lot of contemporaries and small town romances during the early part of this year — I haven’t been reviewing them though and it just feels so freeing, if you know what I mean? Reading without reviewing has definitely lifted so much pressure off my shoulders, hence you won’t see any 2020 reviews here so far.
But lately, I feel like I have been missing doing tags, posting reviews, and just writing in general. So here I am! I hope you would welcome me back just like nothing happened.
Don’t be a stranger! Post in comment section below what your BEST READ for 2020 so far is! I would love to catch up with each one of you!
Ticket for Two is a segment in this blog where I will be quickly “reviewing” movies with the biggest movie/tv series buff I know, Ed (not Sheeran, not Harris, not Burns; just Ed). 🙂 Don’t expect full blown reviews, though, because we will probably not deliver. Quick insights – likes and dislikes, ratings, and that’s it. It should still be fun, though 🙂
“An Amazon princess (Gal Gadot) finds her idyllic life on an island occupied only by female warriors interrupted when a pilot (Chris Pine) crash-lands nearby. After rescuing him, she learns that World War I is engulfing the planet, and vows to use her superpowers to restore peace.” Continue reading “Ticket for Two: Wonder Woman (2017)”
As you probably all know, WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words where you just have to answer the three W-questions! 🙂 It’s some sort of a quick reading update, so here we go!
The 3 W’s are:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?

I can’t believe April is ending in 5 days time which means that the first quarter of 2017 is about to end soon too! What even. Time is getting by so fast, it’s almost scary!
Anyway, I thought of making a list of the things I loved most during the first quarter of this year because I am planning to replenish/replace/ditch stuff in may “collection” (nah, there really isn’t a collection, just a handful of stuff) since it’s summer already. I felt like I’d be needing to replace a lot of the things I use in my face and in my body because of THIS. SCORCHING. HEAT. Ahhh, Manila.
I’m not much of a skin care person before but this year I am slowly turning into one. Slowly adulting, you see. 😉 Continue reading “First Quarter of 2017 Beauty Favorites!”
It’s 2016 and I am definitely going to start the year right by participating in another TBR Takedown! 🙂 I pretty much had a successful TBR Takedown 2.0 and I can’t wait to participate once more. I definitely want to seize all the time I have in the month of January before school starts again on its last week! 🙂
This read-a-thon is again hosted by Shannon over at leaning lights, and here’s what y’all need to know if you wanna join in too! 🙂
One thing I really like about the TBR Takedown are the challenges that comes with each day all through out the read-a-thon. They’re not required, but there are perks if you actually do them and send the pictures via Twitter. The information are all in the video above 🙂 Continue reading “TBR Takedown 3.0!”
“There’s no story,’ I say. ‘I saw you one day, and I just knew.”
Omygodthisbook! I can’t believe I am giving 5-stars to Isla and the Happily Ever After after my semi-bad, shaky relationship with Anna and Lola. But this one, though, sooo freaking good!!!
Title: Isla and the Happily Ever After
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Date Read: December 4th to 8th 2015
Date Published: August 14th 2014 by Usborne Publishing
My book format: Physical copy! 🙂
The café is boiling. The atmosphere is clouded with bittersweet coffee.
Three years of desire rip through my body and burst from my lips: “Josh!”
His head jolts up. For a long time, a very long time, he just stares at me.
And then…he blinks. “Isla?”
Hopeless romantic Isla has had a crush on brooding artist Josh since their first year at the School of America in Paris. And, after a chance encounter in Manhattan over the summer break, romance might be closer than Isla imagined. But as they begin their senior year back in France, Isla and Josh are forced to face uncertainty about their futures, and the very real possibility of being apart.
Set against the stunning backdrops of New York, Paris and Barcelona, this is a gorgeous, heart-wrenching and irresistible story of true love, and the perfect conclusion to Stephanie Perkins’s beloved series.
Honestly, I quite had very low expectations getting into this one, because, as I said, I quite had a rough relationship with Anna and Lola, giving them both a 3.5 in Goodreads. I mean, I did not hate them, but it wasn’t as moving and as engrossing and they were just okay for me. However, I knew I had to complete the collection and get Isla’s story, because, duh, I can’t have a bookshelf without the green book in Stephanie Perkins’ companion series. So long story short, I got the third book just for the heck of it. Continue reading “BOOK REVIEW: ISLA AND THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER BY STEPHANIE PERKINS”
