Oh man, this is going to be a shameful post but I’m doing it anyway because I’m actually proud of all the reading I managed to do this year despite the heavy workload and despite 2017 being my first year ever of practicing law! THE STRESS!  Continue reading “2017 Reading Challenges Wrap Up!”

It’s #Day2 of #BookTubeAThon and I’m only starting to read now! Haha. Still pushing through, though, because I live for READATHONS! ❤

If you are not yet aware what #BookTubeAThon is, it is a bi-annual (I believe?) readathon hosted by booktuber Ariel Bisset, who I love so so much! This year it will run from July 24th to July 30th which gives participants 7-days of non-stop reading. Continue reading “#BookTubeAThon 2017 TBR!”

Beat the Backlist TBR

Screen Shot 2017-02-16 at 1.34.47 PM

Hola, lovely readers of this blog! As you know, I am joining this year’s Beat the Backlist Challenge hosted by Novel Knight. Basically, this challenge would help you trim down the number of books in your shelves that are published prior to 2017! It’s not a very high maintenance challenge as you will be the one to set your own goal (based on the number of books you have not read in your shelf!) and it will run the whole year round! 🙂

So I’m excited to finally get into the books that have been lying in my shelf for forever. Here’s my list! 🙂

1484186890878The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

✪ The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which includes:

Obsidian (Book #1)

Onyx (Book #2)

Opal (Book #3)

Origin (Book #4); and

Opposition (Book #5)

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
November 9 by Colleen Hoover

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

Shatter Me by Tehereh Mafi

Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

I have 16 books that I have not touched since I bought them maybe a couple of years ago. I think I have a very do-able number here and I can’t wait to be able to read them all!

Are you joining the Beat the backlist 2017 Challenge? Let’s chat below! 🙂

2017 Reading Challenges!

Screen Shot 2017-02-16 at 1.32.16 PM

2017 is definitely going to be my year! I’m already claiming it! It will rock and it will definitely be a good one! Oops, pardon the excitement, I guess I’m just too happy that 2016 is finally over! 🙂 Let me do a proper introduction now.

Happy new year, lovely readers of this blog! I am wishing all of you a good year ahead, reading-wise and just with life in general. As you may have seen in my previous post, 2016 hasn’t been very good to me. Things got super cray-cray, and that includes my reading, and I definitely, DEFINITELY!, intend to change that this year! 🙂

Last year, the only reading challenge I joined in was the Goodreads Reading Challenge. I pledged to read 20 books, and I was able to surpass it and read 27. I know, I know, this is probably one of the all-time lows in history of the GR reading challenge but like I said, bad year! 😅 This year, however, I intend to join more reading challenges and I couldn’t be more excited!

1. Goodreads 2017 Reading Challenge

I’m doing a big jump from 20 to 75 because why not! 🙂 I’m finally free from school and I think I’d be able to read more this year! 🙂 I have been joining this reading challenge since 2012 and my 2017 is definitely going to be incomplete without me joining it again! Here’s to completing all 75 and hopefuly more!

2. Beat the Backlist Challenge hosted by Novel Knight

The Beat the Backlist Challenge is focused on knocking off titles that have been on your TBR for a while, or even ones that get pushed aside for new releases. It will run from January 1st to December 31st 2017 – a whole year of sweeping off that TBR pile that has been sitting in my shelves since forever!

I will be posting my list for this challenge soonest!  Continue reading “2017 Reading Challenges!”
