Publishing two posts – one at the beginning and one at the end of the year (without publishing anything in between) is fast becoming a thing for this blog. I’m sorry. I’m certain everyone would agree that this year really sucked.
Although I know many of you were able to take advantage of the lockdowns to be able to read more, I had quite the opposite experience. However I shall not delve into that in this post because what I wanna do right now is to just look back into my reading year and pick my top 8 reads, and maybe some honorable mentions on the side. I have only read 40 books as of posting this but I’m expecting to be able to read at least 3 more before the year ends. I’ll make the necessary updates soon!
8. The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty
7. The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
6. The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
5. One Good Earl Deserves A Lover
4. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
3. The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare
2. The Governess Game by Tessa Dare
1. That Second Chance by Meghan Quinn
I loved that I was able to go back to reading historical romances this year as it is my ultimate favorite genre. I stopped reading it for a while but would you believe that back in 2008 until 2012, I was exclusively reading from this genre alone? Imagine my glee when Bridgerton was aired on Christmas day.
This year, I also discovered new small town romance titles in the works of Meghan Quinn. I totally recommend her Getting Lucky series!
This may not have been a good year for the world, but we still have so many things to be thankful for — and one of those is the privilege to read.
How did your 2020 go reading-wise? I would love to know!
I also read The Bromance Book Club and Girl Meets Duke books this year, and loved them!
