It’s Friday and I’m itching to do a WWW Wednesday post, because (1) I miss doing memes and (2) I badly wanna share to book blogosphere what I’m currently reading and what I intend to read in the weekend and/or the next few days. The thing, though, is it’s not Wednesday and I can’t seem to find a Friday meme that mainly focuses on reading updates. So I made one! Ha!
Basically, this is just me checking-in on a Friday what I’m currently reading as I crawl into the weekend, and what I’m planning to read for the next couple of days – because who doesn’t love to read on a weekend, riiiight?
If you’re like me who would rather curl up in bed with a good book on a Friday night rather than party, then Hey, sistah!, we are related by soul!
So my current Friday read is Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay. I am actually part of its blog tour that’s happening from June 12-22, 2019 (more details when my stop comes!).
Randy Ribay is writing here as an #OwnVoices author as the novel mainly focuses on a half-American half-Filipino main character who has just recently been exposed to the drug war in the Philippines. As a Filipino myself, this is the book that represents me – my country, my language, my people, my struggles – and I can’t wait for the world to read it! ❤
For the rest of the weekend, I have two (very blue) titles in mind:
I started reading A Court of Mist and Fury a couple of weeks ago but I had to pause for some time because work just became very hectic. So I’m thinking of continuing it now. On the other hand, Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune is honestly one I don’t know anything about. But I was chosen to be part of its blog tour which is happening this month, so I might need to get into it already.
I wanna know your weekend reads too, and I would like to talk to you guys in the comments! ❤ Have a happy (reading) weekend ahead!
