It’s been a while since I last read a mystery/thriller and I’m so glad that I picked The Silent Patient up as I re-trace my way back to the genre! I can’t believe this is Alex Michaelides’ debut novel? Like WOW, he’s really good!
The two things that I look for a mystery thriller novel are (1) good writing and (2) good plot twist. I am glad to say that both are satisfied by this novel. I love how simple the author’s writing is. Simple but gripping. You’ll find yourself turning those pages over and over, like I did.
I also love a book that makes me say “I didn’t see that coming!” and this one definitely did. What a very unexpected plot twist!
Overall, I highly recommend this book for both new and old readers of the mystery/thriller genre. I can’t wait for Alex’s next novel.
I felt the same way about The Silent Patient. It was so good and definitely a page turner. That plot twist and how it ended had me SHOCKED!

It turned out this way because I honestly don’t know how to review a mystery/thriller without giving away too much! =) I’m glad you liked it, and I am even more glad you’re adding this!! Yay!! ❤
