October TBR!

Whoa. I cannot believe it’s October already, which means September is over (duh, Kat) and we’re only a couple of months away from December! OMG! It’s Christmas! It’s Christmas!

Anyway, before I get too excited here, I just wanna share with you guys my October TBR. I am not reading a lot this month because I have a thesis to defend in the middle of October and I sure won’t be reading fiction come that week. (Please pray for my defense, guys! Huhu. I really hope it turns out well.) So what I have here is a couple of books to finish and a couple to start, and that’s it! I won’t even try to aspire to read more this month because it’s going to be hectic. Also, you might notice that what I have on my list are all contemporaries and light reads, and that’s because I really don’t wanna deal with a lot of heavy stuff this month. I want everything to just be nice and warm and fluffy! 🙂 So here goes!

 1. Wait for You by Jeniffer L. Armentrout

I’m halfway through Wait For You and what can I say, guys? I am genuinely loving each page of this book! It’s hilarious and sweet and all mushy but with substance and depth. Do you get what I mean? I know you do. ❤ If I don’t have too much school work, I know I’ll be finishing this in one day, but again, things are going cray and it’s been days since I started reading this one. I just wanna finish it already coz I can’t wait to see what happens with Cam and Avery! ❤

Anyway, here’s the Goodreads blurb:

2. I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella

This is my first ever Sophie Kinsella read. I kinda peeked into it and started reading the first couple of chapters and gah, I know I’m going to love it! It’s the very book I need this month – so light and so funny! Now I know why Sophie is the queen of chick lit. I never grew up reading her Shopaholic series because I thought they were too shallow and all. But I guess that assumption is going to have to be turned over now, coz I’ve Got Your Number has totally got me smitten. I’m sure I’ll be picking up more of her works in the future!

Oh and by the way, I’ve got my copy from a Book Blind Date sponsored by Bookbed.org. Readers from all over the Philippines sorta exchanged books and it was so much fun! You can read more about the exchange here.

3. On the Fence by Kasie West

This is my Rainbow Book Club’s book of the month! And I am so excited because I think this is the first YA contemporary that’s become the book of the month! 🙂 Also, it matches my October theme of reading light and romance-y novels, so yay! Fits perfectly well in my TBR!

Anyway, I have never read a Kasie West work, ever, but I’ve seen her books a lot in the bookstores. Their covers are cute and their plots are usually your typical YA contemporary plots. I don’t know yet, however, how she does her twists or how she makes her stories unique from the others. I have yet to see with this one! I’m definitely excited to read this!

4. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

This last book in my TBR has been sitting in my shelf for like forever. And I mean, forever with a capital F! Ugh. I know I bought this early this year and I just could not understand why I have not read it at all! I’ve always been meaning to pick it up and it’s been part of my other monthly TBRs, but I don’t pick it up and I don’t even get why. 🙂 Haha. Anyway, I’m definitely definitely going to read it this month already!

So that’s my October TBR and I would love to hear what’s on your list in comments box! 🙂

Happy reading always!

  1. You’re going to do an amazing job defending that thesis, Kat, I’m sure of it. I’ve seen you for months now working hard, and when you work hard the only possible result is a good result. You’re probably going to be nervous but that’s okay, I know you know that thesis like the palm of your hand.

Anyway, talking about the matter in hands: BOOKS! The only book I’ve read of this list is To All The Boys I Loved Before, and I think is an amazing pick for you right now. It’s light, cute and funny; and you can read it rather quickly. I hope you like it!

    1. OMG Mel, you are too sweet! Thank you so much! I needed that vote of confidence and you just know the perfect things to say! That really meant a lot, Mel! ❤

Anyway, yes, I hope to like it and I'm excited! I'm also glad we're having a contemporary in our book club! Cam rated it 4 stars, I think? 🙂

  2. Ooh, so many great reads! I really loved To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and On the Fence, both were such cute and fun novels! I hope you enjoy them as well. I haven’t read I’ve Got Your Number or Wait For You, but I’ll be keeping my eyes out for your thoughts on both. ❤

  3. That’s a lovely tbr Kat! Your books look so fun that I kinda wanna chuck aside my tbr (which is heavy this month) and read Sophie Kinsella and Jenny Han haha. By the way you’re gonna do amazing with your thesis. You’ve been working too hard not to. I believe in you!

    1. I wanna see your TBR, Cam!!! ❤ I love TBRs! Haha. If you're feeling stressed and all, try having an all-contemporary TBR, might help!

Oh and thank you so much! I really can't wait for it to be over so I can go back to non-stop reading! You and Mel are always too sweet and supportive! ❤
